Terms of Use

The terms that apply when you read and use The Culinary Knife Bible.

These terms keep things simple: the site is a free reference, the content is informational, and using it means you accept the points below.

Effective date: 2026-07-05 Site operator: Andy Garcia (see the About and Contact pages)

Informational content, not professional advice

Everything on this site is published for general information and education. It is not professional, safety, or purchasing advice tailored to your situation. Kitchen knives are tools with real edges: sharpening, thinning, and maintenance carry inherent risk, and you perform them at your own risk. Always follow the manufacturer's guidance for your specific knife and equipment.

Accuracy and corrections

The site works hard at accuracy: entries cite published metallurgy, manufacturer datasheets, and named sources, and the Sources & Method page explains how facts and product links are verified. Even so, the content is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. Steel compositions get revised, makers change their lineups, and prices move. If you spot an error, contact us and it will be corrected.

Advertising and affiliate relationships

The site is free to read and supported by advertising (Google AdSense). Some outbound product links may be affiliate links, meaning the site can earn a small commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. Advertising and affiliate relationships never change what an entry says: recommendations follow the evidence and the site's published maker-selection standards.

Copyright and reuse

The original text, structure, and design of this site are copyright the site operator. You're welcome to quote reasonable excerpts with attribution and a link. Republishing entire entries or the steel dataset without permission isn't allowed. Manufacturer names, steel trade names, and brand names belong to their respective owners and appear here for identification.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the site evolves; the effective date above always reflects the current version. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
